Friday, August 08, 2008 ( ndp olympics @ 7:48 AM ) Haha, it was ironic doing up a speech to argue that the Olympics has brought more harm than benefit to China, when everyone's soaking up the Olympics atmosphere and i could hear the Olympics ceremony from my room (my dad's watching it in the living room). I agree with this stand actually, Haha think about the amount of international criticism that China has received, it is because of the Olympics that China's flaws are magnified! Think of China and you think of contaminated food, bad human rights records and all.. It ruins the reputation of China and it's a long term harm, wheareas the economic benefit is short term (haha yknw China has like 23 roads in and around the Olympic sites- how will all these boost economic growth in the future??) Okay so, the debate's on next weds at TJ! We're doing the first round with YJC and the final round with VJC/PJC. Hopefully we can win and do the school proud (: Ooh my dad just called me to see the Singapore contingent walk past the parade! (: Haha i love watch sporting events. But not so much so to DO the sport. Hahaha. I went to watch Money No Enough today with great company (: it's very touching! Makes me and Catherine think of how we treat our own grandparents. They are always so loving and accomodating that sometimes they appear so casual about things.. But who knows deep down they feel lonely/sad? Hai. Sometimes it's just difficult for them to get love from their children/grandchildren. Hahah like sometimes when my grandma wants to hug yixuan, my p4 cousin, he'll be quite unwilling. Actually i was like that when i was younger too! Horrible right! But we didnt quite understand such things last time. But i guess grandparents do understand that, though im sure they'll feel abit sad. Okay we must all xiao shun our gramps. How many of such hugs with our grandpas/mas do we have left! After the movie we reunited with the rest. We saw cherie and xinci the moment we exited our cinema. Coincidental timings haha. National celebration in school was not bad too(: Except the part about having to sit up really straight to see what's on the stage. Haha. Acty the celebration is similar to last year's. Still is pretty good though. It's national day tmr! I used to take out all my national day props (shakers... lightsticks...) and put it on the coffee table for my family to use when they get high watching NDP. HAHA. Maybe i'll do the same this year! Sounds stupid but it's fun hhaha. AND OH YES I HAVE A GIGANTIC ULCER ON MY LOWER LIP! BOOOOOO. It expanded today to the size of a pin-head! As in those that you use on the soft brown noticeboards. It's quite huge for an ulcer lor! I felt it expanding today, goodness- I was waking up from my afternoon nap and then i touched my ulcer with my tongue. Then there was this quite excruciciating pain! Rarh. So now my national day ulcer is humongous. Haha but i shall let it heal my itself. My immune system shall do the work! I've been more prone to cold since yesterday too. Cause it was raining and I got my shoes wet in the evening, and only managed to dry it at about 9plus pm. And i was having tuition in the aircon room! It was so coooollldddd. And today i was quite cold in the afternoon. Shall drink more essence of chicken. Whaha. Im always amused by how people on tv get sick by just being under the rain for a very short while. So drama la, haha does that happen in real life? I havent met anyone whose immune system is that weak though haha. We celebrated our class birthday a few days ago! (: It was on 5th August- 05/08 <3 But eventually ended up celebrating it on the 6th. Mr Calvin Tan was really nice to have driven Esti to Eastpoint to collect the cake and back to school, so we gave him a slice (which should have melted by the time he got to his table that day) haha. Haha i quite like my class, though it's rather boisterous and noisy at times. But still, a lovely bunch (: My bro just started uni too, cool la he's learning some J1 econs stuff now at the business course. And he's staying at the hostel!
