firstly a warning to all reading, this is going to be quite a long post!

obs was a great experience(: i dont know where to start! haha.

well i learnt quite some stuffs from obs. like i've learnt the importance of friendship, to give my best in all i do.

i thought trekking was the most tiring. my bag was super heavy! and we trekked for about 3km. thankyou fangxiong for waiting up for me from time to time! (:

my shoulders were aching la. especially my left shoulder! it's more tiring than kayaking because you can only rely on yourself. for kayaking if you are tired at least you can rest awhile, cos you have a partner kayaking with you.

we kayaked on the first day. it was only a general sensing(so mauricette hee:)) of how we handled kayaking. so we practised capsizing and all that. catherine and me, tgt with gelin and sharon were up first! cat and i were the rescuers. haha it was quite funny and cute seeing the two getting up to their kayaks. so after MUCH hard work, we did it! (: hahah "we did it" sounds like dora the explorer! ahahahha. but yup. soon after... they capsized again!!! oh no. haha. so we had to rescue them all over again! in the end mauricette forgot about me and cat having to capsized and we dint get to capsize. other than dawn, everyone in the group got a chance to rescue and capsize. sorry dawn! cause she took the single kayak. dawn's a really outdoor person! at least i think she likes the water(: haha.

we climbed the rock wall too! yay i made it to the top! it was about 9 stories high. i spent the most time near the top and in the end i stepped on the iron hook(which i was not supposed to use) and got to the top! yay. haha. belaying was pretty nice too! pull, down at 5.27pm and slide up! hahahah(:

the plan to go on the land expedition on the 2nd night was cancelled due to the haze. so we got to get rid of some canfood and lighten the weight! so we went on the land exp on the 3rd day. it was tiring, as i mentioned earlier on. then we reached camp two! (: haha i just rested on the floor awhile and catherine wanted eat hahahah:P it was nice lying on the bag though. haha. then we went to bathe. i thought we were like sleeping in tents but end up no! we just slept under the shelter on the floor. which was quite good. i dint use much of my talcum powder in the end! it was quite a big bottle. wasted my energy carrying around. haha but as one of the instructors said, anything that doesnt kill makes you stronger(: yay haha.

then! we brought our bags to the boats the next day. yay! we dint have to carry it back to camp one! YAY! hahahahah. the bags are so heavy!! at least the day we went trekking, it was heavy.after that it was lighter cos i got rid of some food like maggee mee. haha. so we went kayaking! i partnered catherine(: so we kayaked and kayaked. it was really tiring at first. suo wei "wan shi qi bu nan" ma(: the people in front were going so fast! haha. den we went into the swamp area. it was not as tiring as we could rest periodically, since we need time to navigate and people had trouble moving around. this is unlike in the open sea where you had to keep moving and moving ba. yeah.

hahah and catherine and i ALMOST capsized! cos there was these branches blocking our way. and we had to get out of it and our kayaks were abit unstable le! but in the end we managed to get out of it without capsizing. but then! zhihao and fangxiong were behind us. and they they faced the same plight as us earlier on! and yikes they capsized(which in a way was good cos their boat was leaking so it helped get rid of some water la(:), so it was rescuing time lo. yup.

den we got out of the swamp and into the open sea! so we rested awhile and had our lunch. the other two groups then met up with us. so we paddled all the way back! along the way some got seasick. but i guess they got better(: janice and gwen are cute haha. they both were seasick and i think they were quite demoralised. then after that they smelled some oranges and gwen started singing! hhaha.

so after that we had a few hours to ourselves to wash up and rest. the night was wonderful. mauricette brought us to the jetty. we chit chatted over there and mauricette told us some of her life experiences and encounters at OBS... like the wild boars and stuffs. it was a free and easy night, a very comfortable one too. there were nice sea breezes too(: when mauricette asked us if we wanted to go to the cookhouse, we said we wanted to stay at the jetty! it was really nice la..(: mauricette was nice to talk to. MAURICETTE ROCKS! hahah i think she is a very nice instructor. she cares about our well being, shes cute, shes nice! she rocks! hahaha. but after we left the jetty i got abit giddy like how some felt after kayaking but it was still okay. i love the nice jetty! it's still in pulau ubin): which i cant go now! if only i can be at pulau ubin now! hahaha.

so yup the last day we had jetty jump. we wrote our commitments down first before proceeding to the jetty. there was this plank for us to walk on before we jumped down. mauricette jumped down as a demo first and dawn was the first person of our group to jump down. then after some others went, it was my turn! haha my legs were like trembling as i walked on the plank.. i took so small steps! and finally i reached near the end of the plank. then i shouted," I WANT TO COMMIT!" (as in the commit to the commitment i wrote down earlier on) and i jumped down the jetty! it took 1 to 2 secs before i landed in the water. some seawater went into my mouth and nose i think then i floated up. haha it was finally over! it was scary for me so i dint really get to experience the fun of it. but it was okay la(: but frankly i dint really convince myself that i wanted to commit when i jumped into the water. i was too scared! so it was not exactly a commitment jump for me, but rather more of one of overcoming my fears and taking that step. haha.

so yeap! throughout obs cat and i were eating and eating. hahahahhaha. like after kayaking as we walked back to our bunks we were eating also! biscuits and all.hahahhaha. but the digestive biscuits were pretty nice! i dint really appreciate these digestive biscuits before i went obs, but it was really quite nice la(:

so yeah. then we went to vinson to have our last and final circle. we consolidated our learnings there, and it was really beneficial for me to hear what others have learnt. sometimes during such debriefs i dont really benefit much, because people give typical answers which may not mean alot to them. but this time although some may have given typical answers, but because we really experienced the meaning of it during our kayaking experiences and all, we could really feel and understand it. some of the more memorable ones were sean's and either janice's or gweneth's. sean said he would treasure relationships more. cos it was his friends that helped him when he needed help. he elaborated more la. but that did set me thinking. and it was either janice or gwen that told us about their kayaking experience, the one about them singing as they kayaked. haha(:

yup. i must say obs was rather beneficial for me. i've got some food for thoughts throughout this 5 days. yup.
